Kajian Mutu Buah Kelapa Sawit (Elaeisguineensisjacq.) Pada Beberapa Jenis Tanah Di Kecamatan Kubu Kabupaten Rokan Hilir
The study aimed to assess the quality of oil palm fruit on several types of soil in Kubu District, Rokan Hilir Regency. The research was carried out on three lands based on differences in land distance from the beach, namely JT (I) = Gleisol soil type, JT (II) = Regosol soil type and JT (III) = Organosol soil type. This study used a survey method with data collection carried out by observation in the field and analysis in the laboratory. Parameters observed were soil chemistry, weight of fresh fruit bunches per bunch, fresh fruit weight, fresh fruit volume, mesocarp thickness, moisture content, free fatty acid content and gross content in Crude Palm Oil (CPO). Data were analyzed using independent sample t-test. The results showed that there were differences in the physical condition of the fruit in the form of FFB weight per bunch, fresh fruit weight, fresh fruit volume and mesocarp thickness on different soil types at the research site and Organosol soil produced high physical condition of the fruit compared to Gleisol and Regosol soil. The soil type did not affect the quality of CPO produced and was of good quality based on the parameters of moisture content, free fatty acid content and gross content. Gleisol, Regosol and Organosol soils at the research site based on the results of the analysis of soil chemical properties K-available which is classified as very low and there is a deficiency of K nutrients that can affect the quality of oil palm fruit.
Keywords: Crude palm oil, Gleisol, Organosol, Regosol.
