Penggunaan Larutan Daun Pepaya (Carica papaya) untuk Memperbaiki Kualitas Parameter Kimia Air pada Media Budidaya Ikan Patin (Pangasianodon hypophthalmus)
The problem that often occurs in striped catfish farming activities right now is in the maintenance media, namely water quality, the quality of water used for fish maintenance must meet the requirements of one of the water chemistry parameters. Water chemistry parameters are an important factor in aquaculture activities because they can support fish growth. Alternatives that can be done to maintain water quality by utilizing papaya leaf compounds and zeolite filters. The study aims to determine the effect of papaya leaf solution and get the best dose of papaya leaf solution to improve the quality of water chemistry parameters and growth rate of catfish. The research was conducted from April-May 2024 at the Environmental Quality Laboratory of Aquaculture and Hatchery, Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, Riau University. The method used in this research an experimental method using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 4 levels and 3 repetitions with each treatment P0 (without giving papaya leaf solution and zeolite (control), P1 (giving papaya leaf solution 4 ml /Land zeolite 17.05 g/L), P2 (giving papaya leaf solution 5 ml/L and zeolite 17.05 g/L), P3 (giving papaya leaf solution 6 ml/L and zeolite 17.05 g/L). The best treatment P3, which papaya leaf solution 6 ml/L and zeolite 17.05 g/L). The resulting pH (7.6 ± 0.05), DO (7.2 ± 0.30 mg/L), ammonia (0.020 ± 0.001 mg/L) nitrate (3.44±0.11 mg/L), phosphate (1.53±0.21 mg/L), absolute weight 2.92±0.31 g/head, absolute length 3.56±0.47 cm/head and specific growth rate 1.75±0.12 %/day.
