Analisis Potensi Usaha Oleh-Oleh Di Kota Dumai
The development of an area can be seen from the increase in the potential of an area, which will be able to improve the regional economy. This includes the potential of souvenir businesses in Dumai City. The more enthusiasts for typical souvenirs of Dumai City, it will encourage the development of souvenir businesses in Dumai City so that they can become potential souvenir businesses. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to determine the potential of souvenir businesses in Dumai City. This research uses exploratory quantitative methods. The population and samples in the study were 10 business owners of typical food souvenirs of Dumai City. The sampling technique using saturated sampling method is that all members of the population are used as samples. Data were collected using questionnaires and documentation and then analyzed using SWOT analysis. Based on the research results, the souvenir business is in quadrant 1 which means the Strengths-Opportunities (SO) strategy, in these conditions the souvenir business in Dumai City has very good potential to be developed. The souvenir business has opportunities and strengths so that it can maximize strengths and take advantage of existing opportunities, this is supported by quality souvenir products, many variations of souvenir products, such as varied flavors and attractive packaging, there is guidance from the government such as entrepreneurship seminars, product prices in accordance with product quality, increased sales results, strategic business locations, and providing good service to consumers.
