Implementasi Gerakan Literasi Sekolah Pada Pembelajaran Sejarah di SMA Negeri 12 Pekanbaru
The School Literacy Movement (GLS) aims to improve students' literacy skills, including reading, writing, listening, and speaking. This study explores the implementation of GLS in history learning at State Senior High School 12 Pekanbaru, specifically in class X.3. A descriptive qualitative method was used to describe the planning, implementation, and challenges of GLS. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. The results of the study show that the teacher has developed a GLS plan that includes various literacy activities, such as reading historical texts, group discussions, and presentations. The implementation of activities is carried out gradually to encourage understanding of the material, critical thinking, and collaboration among students. However, the main challenges are the low reading interest of students and limited access to engaging reading materials, which need to be addressed. This study recommends the development of innovative learning media, increasing the collection of reading materials, and fostering collaboration between schools, teachers, and parents to support a literacy culture. This study contributes to understanding how GLS can be effectively implemented in history learning to improve students' literacy skills.
