Eksplorasi Nilai Pendidikan Karakter Dalam Tradisi Rewang Sebagai Bahan Ajar IPAS di SD
This research aims to explore the values of character education contained in the rewang tradition and develop it as teaching material for science and science subjects in elementary schools. The rewang tradition was chosen because it contains various aspects of character education that are relevant for the formation of students' personalities, especially in a socio-cultural context.
The research methodology used is qualitative ethnography. The research was conducted in June-August 2024 in Muara Bahan Village. The data sources used are primary data sources and secondary data sources. The data collection instruments used were observation, interviews and documentation. Data analysis techniques include data reduction, data presentation, and verification, after collecting and recording the data.
The research results show that the rewang tradition contains five main values of character education. The first value is faith and devotion to God Almighty and having noble morals, which is reflected in joint prayer and respect for religious norms during rewang activities. The second value is mutual cooperation, which can be seen through cooperation between community members in making the event a success. The third value is global diversity, where rewang becomes a forum for harmonious interaction amidst the diversity of people's backgrounds. Furthermore, the value of discipline is seen in managing time and carrying out tasks in an organized manner during activities. Finally, creative values emerge in the way people solve various challenges during rewang, such as using local resources effectively.
The conclusion of this research is that the rewang tradition can be a source of teaching material for science and science subjects in elementary school. The character education values identified in this tradition can be integrated into learning to increase students' understanding of local culture while forming positive character. It is hoped that the results of this research will become the basis for teachers and educational policy makers in developing local culture-based teaching materials. This research aims to explore the values of character education in the rewang tradition as science teaching material in elementary schools in CHAPTER 6 "My Indonesia is Rich in Culture, on Topic A The Uniqueness of the Habits of the People Around Me".
