Uji Konsentrasi Ekstrak Organik Daun Pepaya jepang (Cnidoscolus aconitifolius I. M. Johnst) terhadap Mortalitas Larva Kumbang Tanduk (Oryctes rhinoceros Linn.) Kelapa Sawit (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.)
Oil palm production decreased due to plant disrupting organisms (PDO) such as horned beetle pests (Oryctes rhinoceros Linn.). Control of O. rhinoceros pests generally uses synthetic insecticides. Alternative control can use vegetable insecticides, one of which is japanese papaya leaves (Cnidoscolus aconitifolius I.
M. Johnst). C. aconitifolius contain secondary metabolite compounds such as cyanogenic glycosides. This study aims to obtain an effective concentration of organic extract of japanese papaya leaves on the mortality of horned beetle larvae on oil palm plants. The research was conducted using a completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of five treatments and four replicates to obtain 20 experimental units. Each experimental unit consisted of 10 instar 2 larvae. The treatments given were 0%, 0.25%, 0.5%, 0.75% and 1% concentrations of organic extract of japanese papaya leaves. The results showed that 1% concentration of organic extract of japanese papaya leaves was the best concentration to control horned beetle larvae, causing mortality of 77.5% with an initial time of death of
42.00 hours and lethal time 50 at 93.00 hours after treatment. However, this concentration is not considered effective because it does not cause mortality equal to or more than 80%.
