Potensi Pakan Lebah Madu (Apis mellifera) Pada Sistem Agroforestri di Desa Mandi Angin Kecamatan Minas Kabupaten Siak
Honey bee cultivation has great potential to be developed in Indonesia. PT Arara Abadi is an industrial plantation forest company with acacia (A. crassicarpa). Efforts to improve the economy of the community around the concession area have been carried out in several villages for silvopastura activities, one of which is Mandi Angin Village. The availability of feed is very influential on honey production, so further research is needed related to honey bee feed. The purpose of this study was to determine the diversity and dominance of vegetation types of honey bee (Apis mellifera) food sources in Mandi Angin Village. The research methods used in this study were observation techniques and literature studies. Analysis of research data includes vegetation in the field analyzed to determine density and relative density, frequency and relative frequency, dominance and relative dominance and important value index, then to determine the diversity of a species using the calculation of the Shanon-Wiener index and to determine the dominance index of a species, the data is analyzed using the calculation of the Simpson index. The results showed that plants obtained in 10 circular plots obtained 7 types of plants. Acacia plants are vegetation that dominates at all points of the plot. Based on the calculation of the Shanon-Wiener index, diversity is in the medium category and the calculation of the Simpson index, acacia plants at the pole level are the dominating plants, this is because cultivation activities are carried out in the PT Arara Abadi concession area. The conclusion in this study is that there are 7 types of plants that are a source of food for honey bees and are dominated by acacia and senduduk plants at all plot points.
