Partisipasi Kelompok Masyarakat Peduli Api Dalam Pengendalian Kebakaran Hutan Dan Lahan Di Desa Benteng Hulu
ABSTRACT
Forest and land fires are a common problem in Indonesia and recur every year. Various efforts have been made by the government to prevent forest and land fires, one of which is by forming a Fire Care Community organization. The purpose of this study is to determine the factors that cause forest and land fires and to determine the participation of the Fire Care Community group in controlling forest and land fires. This research was conducted in Benteng Hulu Village, Mempura District, Siak Regency, Riau Province in January 2024. Data collection methods by conducting literature studies, field observations and interviews using the snowball sampling method with key informants namely the head of the Fire Care Community group. The results of the research that has been conducted that the Fire Care Community group in Benteng Hulu Village participates in providing socialization to the community for the prevention of forest and land fires, disseminating information related to fires and their prevention, conducting regular meetings with the group to evaluate work, conducting patrols especially in dry conditions and potentially flammable land and helping to extinguish fires in the event of forest and land fires. The conclusion obtained from this research is that the factors causing forest and land fires in Benteng Hulu Village can be caused by having a peatland area and the lack of public awareness in clearing land by burning.
