The Sultan Syarif Kasim Museum itself is the only museum in Bengkalis Regency.
This museum is located on Jl. Jendral Sudirman, Parit Bangkong, Bengkalis
District, Bengkalis Regency. The Sultan Syarif Kasim Museum was established in
1977-1978. Known as a historical tourist attraction, this museum is not free from
visits from the public, both local people, people from outside the region, and abroad
to get information. The role of the Bengkalis Regency government in supporting the
Sultan Syarif Kasim Museum as a Destination for Malay Cultural History and
Education Tourism by promoting it through several activities including making
pamphlets, brochures, and holding several collaborations with several government
agencies, private companies and budgeting activities. The obstacles experienced
were the legality of the land for the museum building which was still not the right
of the Bengkalis Regency government, incomplete facilities and infrastructure, and
minimal budget. The utilization of the Sultan Syarif Kasim Museum as a Destination
for Malay Cultural History and Education Tourism in Bengkalis Regency, Riau
Province is currently still not running optimally, due to the lack of supporting
facilities in the Museum. In addition, there is still no cooperation between the
museum and educational institutions in Bengkalis.
