Desain Penempatan Distributed Generation Untuk Menurunkan Drop Tegangan Jaringan Distribusi Menggunakan Particle Swarm Optimization
ABSTRACT
Voltage drop in distribution networks can reduce power supply quality and system efficiency. One solution to address this issue is the placement of Distributed Generation (DG) within the distribution network to improve voltage profiles and reduce power losses. This study aims to determine the optimal DG placement using the Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) method to minimize voltage drop on the Belanga feeder in Ujungbatu. The research methodology involves modeling the existing distribution network using ETAP software to analyze the initial system conditions. Subsequently, the PSO algorithm is implemented in MATLAB to optimize the location and capacity of DG units. The results are evaluated by comparing voltage conditions before and after DG installation to ensure that the voltage drop remains below 5%, in accordance with SPLN-017 2014 standards. The findings indicate that PSO-optimized DG placement significantly reduces voltage drop. The optimal DG locations are identified at several bus points on the feeder, with a total capacity of 8 MW. The implementation of this strategy is expected to enhance power supply quality and reduce power losses in the distribution network, providing both technical and economic benefits to the power system.
