The results of this study are that substitute parenting patterns of grandparents towards behavior are more dominated by democratic parenting patterns and slightly authoritarian. The democratic parenting pattern that occurs in grandparents is carried out in the form of establishing rules that have been agreed upon together and not giving freedom to their grandchildren, but still listening to the complaints of their grandchildren, including being firm in educating their grandchildren, but still maintaining good communication with their grandchildren. The behavior of children under the care of substitute parents is mostly well-behaved, classified as diligent and punctual in studying, and has never received any reports related to the naughtiness they have done, and some of them have good academic achievements at school. However, it was also found that there were children who were cared for under substitute care who overall did not have the enthusiasm to go to school due to lack of supervision by their grandmothers, so they often behave badly.
