Jenis Kelimpahan Perifiton Pada Substrak Kaca Di Zona Lakustrin Waduk Limbungan Kota Pekanbaru Propinsi Riau
A research aims to understand types and abundant of periphyton attached in glass substrate (slide glasses) that were placed in the lakustrin zone of the Limbungan Reservoir, Pekanbaru has been conducted from April to May 2011. There were 3 stations, station 1: around the littoral zone and there were aquatic plant, station 2: in the water closed to fish floating cages and station 3: at the centre of the dam. Samplings were conducted 3 times, once/ week. Thirty glass substrates were placed at each station. Two slides were collected and periphytons were obtained through scraping the upper and lower of glass surface (7,5 x 2,5 cm). Periphyton collected were preserved using Lugol 1 % and then identified based on Whirford and Schumacher (1984) and Davis (1955). Results shown that there were 4 classes of periphyton present, namely, Cyanophyceae (6 species), Chlorophyceae (8 pecies), Bacillariophyceae (4 species) and Euglenophyceae (3 species). The abundance of the periphyton ranged from 1,781 - 2,136 cells/cm2, diversity index was 4.3769 - 4.5263 and dominanancy index was 0.0483 - 0.0532. Based on data obtained, it can be concluded that the Limbungan Reservoir water can be categorized as mesotrophic waters.
