Keanekaragaman Jenis Burung Di Tiga Habitat Lahan Terbuka Hijau Kawasan Kampus Universitas Riau Panam Pekanbaru

Campus of Riau University (UR) Panam is a group of habitat consist of office
building or calsroom (± 100 Ha); (2) green open space (± 50 Ha). Green open
space includes natural forest arboretum (± 8 Ha), farmland (± 40 Ha), and
industrial wood (±2 Ha). The aimed of the study were to identified biodiversity
and similarity of bird were detected in three habitats type in green open space at
UR Panam Campus. Sample was done at August-December 2009. The collection
of data was done by studying the bird and vegetation. Study of bird was done by
making three 50x50m plots in every habitat were selected. Mist net no. 4
(9x2,5x4m) was using and operating five days in one month with three restating.
Study of bird related to species, number, size and distribution of birds that found
during the research. While the study of vegetation related to composition type of
vegetation at research plots. The result of research showed that individual number
and species number are different in each habitat. The total of the bird was caught
during the research was 96 individual that classified into 28 species and derived
from 18 families. The mostly species that caught is belong to Pycnonotidae. This
species of bird tend to live in group. The most species that was caught is
Pycnonotus goiavier counted 15 individual. Diversity index of the bird in 3
habitats that was controlled ranging from 1.855-2548, the highest diversity found
in farm land. The similarity in three habitats green open space is low. Result of the
study showed that natural forest and industrial wood have similarity index 29,4%.
The lowest similarity indexs found in industrial wood with farm land (16,7%).
