Pengaruh Kedalaman Dan Dimensi Grup Tiang Terhadap Pengurangan Penurunan Konsolidasi Pada Tanah Lunak Yang Tebal
Settlement is often a major problem when building on soft soils. In order to reduce settlement on soft soils, group friction piles are often used. However the effectiveness of group friction piles on thick soft soils need to be accessed.
In practice, settlement analysis of group friction piles using simplified Boussinesq Stress Distribution (2 Verticals : 1 Horizontal) Method is commonly used for preliminary settlement prediction. This research evaluate the effectiveness of group friction piles is quantified with Relative Settlement Reduction (RSR) which is the ratio of settlement reduction when installing group friction piles compared to total settlement without installing piles. Furthermore, multi-layer settlement calculation is applied instead of one-point stress method.
This research shows that on using simplified Boussinesq settlement method, the most effective length of group piles is about 60 percent of the soft soil thickness. In addition to that, some limitations of simplified Boussinesq settlement method are also shown.
