This research aims to describe environmental status in RokanHilir; to observe existence of tribal land in RokanHilir and its relation to environmental sustainability quality; to analyze tribal land wisdom values in RokanHilir in order to harmonize environmental quality; and to analyze tribal land roles in RokanHilir including social, economy, environment, organization, and technique in eco-culture perspective. Method used in the research is qualitative naturalistic of grounded research. The research is located in RokanHilir Regency, Riau Province.
The research results show that anthropocentric perspective caused degradation of environment such as flood, yearly forest fire, water crisis, degradation of river, sea, and seashore, deforestation, tribal land marginalization, flora and fauna destinction, local people marginalization, and ecosystem deterioration comprehensively. The research found that existence of tribal land in RokanHilir including cultural area of Kubu, Bangko, and Tanah Putih as in book of Babul Qawaid (1901) and Adatrech XIII-Gemend (1819) that nowadays are marginalized in majority. It was shown that the values of tribal land of the people of RokanHilir in environmental conservation include ethics, morals, and behaviors for all of the eco-culture community of the people of RokanHilir. It was also found that the roles of tribal land of RokanHilir include cosmologic-metaphysic-religious, social-economic and ecologic in sustainability environmental conservation.
Environmental wisdom values of the people of RokanHilir are able to conserve and take care of environmental sustainability. In order to solve degradation of environment and marginalization of tribal community in RokanHilir, needs revitalization of environmental wisdom of the people of RokanHilir by changing their perspective from anthropocentric to eco-culture.
