Analisis Perilaku Pemilih Pemula Dalam Keputusan Memilih Walikota Pekanbaru Tahun 2011
The purpose of this research is to analyze the influence of the beginner (young) voters’ behavior factors which consisted from persona, emotional relation, platforms, image, current events, personal events and epistemic issues toward voters’ decision on Pekanbaru Mayoral Election in 2011
This research was conducted on the citizen of Pekanbaru City who’s has used his voting rights for the first time in the general election of Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Pekanbaru City in 2011 with an age range of 17-22 years. Total sample set of 100 respondents, and the sampling technique used in this research is a cluster random sampling. The data collection was done by distributing questionnaires. The analytical method used in this research is descriptive quantitative research. The data are analyzed using the multiple linear regression utilizing the help of SPSS software version 20. The data used have met the test of validity, reliability testing and classical assumption.
The results of simultaneous regression testing (f test) shows that all independent variables studied has significantly affect to the vote decision variables. The results of the partial regression test (t test) showed that emotional variables have the most dominant influence on the vote decision variables. The magnitude of the effect (R2) of those seven variables overall towards the dependent variable was 63.1 % while the remaining 36.9 % is influenced by other variables that not examined in this study.
