The more widespread development of narcotic crime in Indonesia is very alarming for the nation's future, especially in the province of Riau. Police Forensic Laboratory as a tool specifically assist the Indonesian National Police has the responsibility to carry out tasks that are critical to uncover everything that is associated with all types and kinds of narcotics wearer or anyone who pengedarnya. However, to obtain higher truths necessary tools are sophisticated and advanced, and of course all the costs that are not few in number. Based on this understanding, then writing this essay to formulate three formulation of the problem, namely: First, what is the role of forensic laboratories in the proof of evidence against a criminal act of abuse of narcotics in the jurisdiction of Riau Police? Second, barriers pakah forensic laboratories in the proof of evidence against a criminal act of abuse of narcotics in the jurisdiction of Riau Police? Third, how the efforts made to overcome obstacles forensic laboratories in the proof of evidence against a criminal act of abuse of narcotics in the jurisdiction of Riau Police?
The research method in this study, first, this kind of research is legal sociological and descriptive. Second, the location study AREAS Riau Police jurisdiction. Data sources, data source supported by primary, secondary data sources and tertiary data sources. Thirdly, data collection techniques used were interviews, and a review of literature. After the data collected then analyzed qualitatively, then draw conclusions by deductive thinking method is to analyze the problems of the general form into special shapes.
From the research there are three main issues that can be concluded, first, the role of forensic laboratories in the proof of evidence against a criminal act of abuse of narcotics in the jurisdiction in which the Riau Regional Police Forensic Laboratory is very important in terms of determining the content of the types of drugs, from the test results Labfor can be known class of narcotics from the womb, from the examination results can help investigators determine the chapter to be alleged for suspects, supporting the belief the judge, in terms of helping the judge in deciding a case with their role in the system Labfor evidence or as evidence in court. Second, barriers experienced that slow the completion of the crime scene and investigation processes, facilities and infrastructure and the evidence submitted by investigators are too few or damaged thereby slowing the process of examination Laboratory. Third, the efforts made to overcome these barriers is to accelerate the process of laboratories and crime scene intvestigasi process, utilizing the Fund and Infrastructure are available and increase the amount of evidence in accordance with the provisions and resend the faulty evidence.
