Along with the times, as now, the rampant drug crime in people's daily life. Act only prohibits the use of narcotic drugs without license by the Act in question. One effort to tackle crime as a social phenomenon is the Police. In Indragiri Hilir many narcotics cases that have been revealed by police Inhil. In Indragiri Hilir narcotic crime rate is quite high, because the region is a strategic place Indragiri Hilir drug trafficking and circulation can be through sea and land. The purpose of this thesis, namely: First, to determine the role of police in combating crime Inhil narcotics. Second, to determine barriers Inhil Police in combating narcotics. Third, To find the Police Inhil efforts in overcoming obstacles eradication of narcotics. Types of research used in this study belong to the juridical sociological research that is reviewing the state of the existing problems in the field associate with aspects of the applicable law and governing problems. The data used are primary data, secondary and tertiary and techniques of data collection using questionnaires, interviews and literature study. From the results and discussion of research and concluded that the First Police Inhil role in the eradication of narcotic that is instrumental in promotive, preventive and repressive, Second, barriers Inhil Police in the eradication of narcotics, namely the lack of operational funds, human resources, going undercover, distant place takes time, lack of transportation, do not have a forensic laboratory and the lack of community participation, and third, the efforts made to overcome the obstacles Police Inhil eradication of narcotics: first, AdjInhil Police narcotics Investigation Unit will submit an application to the Chief of Police in the form of fund details needed to handle narcotics cases and make cost savings, second, propose the addition of personnel and training to improve the skills of the personnel members to vocational education in particular Criminal Investigation Drugs, a third, a new police recruit and select personnel who can work well, the fourth , advance preparation facilities and infrastructure in the pursuit of criminal suspects narcotics and trying to make sure in advance the presence of suspected narcotics offense, fifth, use private transport or use of passenger transportation, the sixth, bringing the sample to the POM to Pekanbaru or Forensic Laboratory Medan Police Branch, and the seventh, doing legal counseling to members of the community and provide security and protection to the witnesses as much as possible, if the witnesses are threatened by the suspect.
