Analisis Perbandingan Kinerja Pipa Kalor Dengan Variasi Number Of Screen Mesh Wick
The heat pipe is a heat exchanger with small dimensions that can transfer the high heat. Many research on the heat pipe was used to improved performance by modifying its thermal fluid, orientation, and wick structure. In this study, the heat pipes was made of copper tube 9.525 mm of diameter, 1 mm of thickness and 400 mm of lenght using a 100 mesh screen as a wick structure which used water as the working fluid. Variation testing using 3 variations of the angle of 0°, 45°, 90° and 4 variations of heat input 3 Watt, 4 Watt, 5 Watt And 6 Watt to see the effects on the performance of heat pipes. The results showed that the larger the angle of inclination of the heat input, the smaller the thermal resistance values. Thermal resistance lowest occurred in 200 mesh screen angle of 90 ° with a heat input of 6 Watts by 5.88 ° C / Watt. The heat transfer coefficient and the temperature difference occurs at least 200 mesh screen tilt angle of 90o to the value of 142.83 W / m² ° C and 19.37 ° C. The fourth variation of the number of screen mesh wick examined, ie 200 mesh screen has the best thermal performance. Keywords:heat pipe, screen mesh, wick.
