Traffic accidents can occur because the child’s behavior and irregularities of various negative factors. In the code of criminals procedure article 45 age limit of 16 years. However, article 45 has bebb abolished. According to article paragraph (1) of law No 3 of 1997 article 1paragraph (1) of juvenile justice, stating that the definition of child is a person in case bad baoy 8 years old and not married. The purpose of this study was to determine how the role of police in criminal investigations of traffic accidents by chilren in the juridiscion POLRESTA pekanbaru based approach to Restorative Justice and barriers as well as the efforts of the police in investigating child. During the investigations the child, the police must uphold the right of the child in accordance with the regulateion of law with familial despair. The police also have to maintain the confidentiality of the identity of the child. The conclucion is that the role of the police in the investigation of the child has not been carrying out their duties to the maximum as set out in the law police about of the main of the police and authorities in the investigation of this son. Police should improve performance and increase the force investigator in accidents of traffic criminal affenses and child fostering and outreach to the community. And to seek peace for the victims and the suspects.
