This study aimed to describe the type of meanings in terms of work culture among workers in Japan using a semantic approach. The method used is qualitative descriptive method. The object of this study in the form of terms of work culture taken from several articles Asahi Shimbun. The results of this study are 9 terms of work culture in Japan, such as karoushi, ki ga sumanai, hatarakibachi, chourei, naishoku, hatarakisugi, tanshin funin, karou jisatsu, dan inemuri. From the result can know the types of meaning , including the meaning of denotation , the meaning of connotation, and the meaning of idioms .
