Komunitas Perifiton Epidendritic Di Danau Pinang Luar Desa Buluhcina Kecamatan Siak Hulu Kabupaten Kampar Provinsi Riau
In the area around Pinang Luar Lake, there are activities such as ilegal loging and palm plantations. Those activities, however, produce pollutant that enter the water and thus reducing its quality. To understand the water quality in general, a research on the water quality that was based on the periphyton community was conducted from March to April 2017. The samples of periphyton and water were taken from 4 stations, in the inlet (St1), middle area (St 2 and 3) and in the outlet (St4). Sampling were conducted three times, once/ 2 weeks. Periphyton samples were taken by scraping the surface of the immersed wood using a tooth brush (5x5 cm2). Periphyton collected were thenpreserved using lugol 1%and then identified. Results shown that there are 61 species of periphyton and they are belonged to 9 classes, namely Bacillariophyceae (25 species), Cyanophyceae (7 species), Chlorophyceae (22 species), Crysophyeceae (1 species), Dynophyceae (2 species), Euglenophyceae (1 species), Protozoa (1 species), Rotifera (1 species) and Xanthophyceae (1 species). The periphyton abundance was ranged from 36,780- 48,150 cells/L. The water quality parameters were as follows : temperature was 28- 300C, pH was 5, depth was 2.9 – 3.9 m, brightness was 27.5 – 43.5 cm, DO was 5.2 – 6.9 mg/L, free CO2 was 4.6 – 5.4 mg/L, nitrate was 0.02 – 0.04 mg/L and phosphate was 0.018 – 0.05 mg/L. Data obtained indicate that the water quality in the Pinang Luar Lake is good and able to support the life of periphyton.
