Struktur Komunitas Gastropoda Pada Ekosistem Mangrove Di Pulau Mendul Desa Sungai Upih Kecamatan Kuala Kampar Kabupaten Pelalawan Provinsi Riau

Mangrove area in the Sungai Upih Villagehas been decrease due to anthropogenic activities. Decrement in mangrove ecosystem will negatively affect the aquatic organisms in general, including the gastropod present in that area. To understand the comunity structure of gastropods in the mangrove ecosystem, a research was conducted on December 2016. There were 3 line transects and in each row, there were 9 plots (1x1m) placed. The gastropods in the plot were collected manually for 3 weeks. Results shown that there were 8 species of gastropods present, namely Nerita funiculata, Cerithidea quadrata, Chicoreus capucinus, Cassidula lutescens, Telescopium telescopium, Littoraria melanostoma, Dostia violacea and Terebralia sulcata. The gastropods abundance was ranged from 59,630-101,852 organisms/ha. The value of diversity index was (H') 2.764-2.933, the dominance index (C) was 0.138-0.151, and the uniformity index (E’) was 0.956-0.985. The water quality parameters are as follows: temperature was 28.33-30 0C, pH was 7.2-7.4 and salinity was 20.67-22.330/00.Gastropoda community structure in the mangrove ecosystem in Sungai Upih Village has been disturbed, as there is adominant species , namely T. sulcata.
