Analisis Industri Unggulan Dan Peranannya Terhadap Perekonomian Daerah Provinsi Riau

This study aims to identify the industry sector that became a leading industry and analyze the role of leading industries to the economy of Riau province. The data used in this study is the data on the number of workers in large and medium industries in Riau province according to industry code in 2010-2014 and data on the number of large and medium industrial workers nationally or in Indonesia by industrial code in 2010-2014. The research method used is descriptive quantitative and location quotient analysis. The result of location quotient analysis (LQ) through labor absorption approach shows that there are 2 main industries namely paper and paper products and food industry. The two leading industries absorb about 88 percent of the total employment rate in large and medium industries in Riau province.
