Kemampuan Dan Kemandirian Kelompoktani Dalam Mengembangkan Agribisnis Sagu Di Kabupaten Kepulauan Meranti

The purpose of this research is to have knowledge about ability and independence of farmer groups in developing sago agribusiness. This research conducted in Kepulauan Meranti regency on January to June 2016. This research is using survey method and purposive sampling as the gaining respondent method for 39 farmer group managers and also simple random sampling for 65 members in certain groups. Analysis tool which are used descriptive analysis and liket scale analysis, and Rank Spearman Corellation Analysis (rho).
Result of this research shows that : The development of sago agribusiness seen from agribusiness subsystem such as : Production Facility Subsystem (citizen will not get in trouble to get production facilities). Agriculturan Business Subsystem (citizen knows about sago cultivation aspect). Sago Agroindustry Subsystem (Sago manufacturing are still only about wet and dry sago powder). Marketing Subsystem (Sago marketing consists of sago trunk and sago powder), which are 4 channels of sago trunk marketing and 4 channels of sago powder marketing. Supporting Department Subsystem (this subsystem is not giving a quite good impact for sago farmers). The ability of farmer group as middle category. The independence of farmer group as quite independent. The correlation between ability and independence of sago farmer groups have 0,880 as the coefficient correlation score with 0,001 (significant). The policy implication in supporting sago cluster is decanted in RPJMD of Kepulauan Meranti Regency 2016-2021.
