Identifikasi Boraks Pada Jajanan Anak Sekolah Dasar Di Kelurahan Padang Bulan, Padang Terubuk Dan Sago Kota Pekanbaru
Problem of food safety which are often found is the abuse of borax as food preservative. Consuming food containing borax in a long period of time will cause irritation of skin, eye, respiratory tract, and may also disturb neonatal growth. The purpose of this study was to identify borax content of food sold at elementary school in Padang Bulan, Padang Terubuk and Sago Senapelan District Pekanbaru City. The samples tested with qualitative test to identify borax content on food of elementary school student. The result of this study showed that one out of the 23 food sampels that have been tested with flame test and curcumin paper test, was positive to contain borax. The conclusion of this study was bakso tahu that were sold around SD Negeri 156 in Padang Bulan Senapelan District Pekanbaru City contained borax.
