Analisis Exergy Gas Engine Unit 02 Pembangkit Listrik Tenaga Biogas Kapasitas 835 Kw Di Pt. Ramajaya Pramukti
Biogas from palm oil mill effluent is one of renewable energy that can be used to reduce the use of fossil energy in meeting the electricity needs. At a biogas power plant (PLTBg), a gas engine is an important component which functions to convert the energy contained biogas into mechanical energy to drive the electric generator. Because of its important function, the performance of the gas engine needs to be maintained in order to remain well operated. Performance of the gas engine depends on the efficiency of each cylinder of the gas engine in converting the fuel energy into work. An exergy study is needed to know the efficiency of multi-cylinder gas engine so that it can be used for further analysis in increasing the efficiency of the use of renewable energy sources (biogas) in gas engine. The aims of this study was to calculate and analyze exergy destroyed/lost, calculated the value of exergetic efficiency and identify the location of the largest exergy destroyed/lost in gas engine unit 02 PLTBg in PT. Ramajaya Pramukti capacity of 835 kW. From the results of the discussion it was founded that the average exergy gas engine losses in compression stroke of 134.41 kW (4.35%), the combustion process 1544.53 kW (50.00%), expansion stroke 372.47 kW (12.06%) and exhaust stroke 398.72 kW (12.91%). The greatest exergetic efficiency of gas engine was on cylinder 10 (24.60%) and lowest in cylinder 7 and 8 (23.81%). The average exergetic efficiency of the gas engine cylinder was 24.14%, less than its thermal efficiency value (56.29%).
