Pengaruh Penambahan Limbah Sisa Penyaringan Minyak Kelapa Sawit Sebagai Bahan Tambah Terhadap Kuat Tekan Dan Kuat Lentur Beton
Bleaching Earth is the one of the materials used in the process to refine the palm oil and also increasing every year. Related on this, this research aims to obtain the characteristics of concrete using Spent Bleaching Earth (SBE) as a substitution material on normal concrete. This research is aimed at compressive strength, setting time, and flexural strength towards concrete. Percentage of SBE usage is 0%, 2%, and 4% of cement weight. The specimens used in this research is a cylinder with dimensions of 150 x 300 mm for compressive strength testing with treatment age 28, 56, and 91 days. As for flexural strength testing using a beam with dimensions of 600 x 150 x 150 mm with 28 days of treatment. The results in this research SBE showing a decreased in compressive strength and flexural strength of concrete due to the silica contained in the SBE can not react with cement because it show decreased of 15,45% than normal concrete. However, for substitution of 4% SBE, an initial binding time of 60,54 minutes and a final time of 135 minutes indicates a longer hardening time. And SBE still passes the target with ƒ'c a planned concrete of 20 MPa
