Isolasi, Skrining Dan Uji Potensi Bakteridari Pencernaan Larva Oryctes Rhinoceros L. Sebagai Dekomposer Tandan Kosong Kelapa Sawit
Oil palm empty fruit bunch (OPEFB) is one of the palm oil processing waste that has been developed into compost. The utilization of OPEFB as compost done by heaping it around the area of oil palm plantations and decomposition process is took naturally in a long time because the high content of cellulose and lignin. One of the organisms that help in decomposing is Oryctes rhinoceros larvae. This is supposedly because there are many cellulolytic and lignolytic bacteria in digestive, so the larvae can decipher OPEFB. This research aims to selecting and characterizing the bacteria from digestive of O. rhinoceros larvae that potential to degrade OPEFB. Five larvae from the 2nd and 3rd instars were used in this research. The isolation of bacteria carried by pour plate and streak plate method on Nutrient Agar (NA), continued with potential test and identification of bacteria. The research succeeded to isolate 24 bacterial from digestive of O. rhinoceros larvae, nine of it potentially to degrade OPEFB that indicated with cellulolytic and lignolytic potential test with codes ORL 1, ORL 2, ORL 4, ORL 6, ORL 7, ORL 8, ORL 17, ORL 19 and ORL 24. The result of identification based on characteristics bacteria, suspected that isolates ORL 1 and ORL 6 genus Bacillus sp, ORL 2 genus Proteus sp, ORL 4 genus Ochrobactrum sp, ORL 7 genus Erwinia sp, ORL 8 genus Aeromonas sp, ORL 17 and ORL 19 genus Citrobacter sp dan ORL 24 genus Pseudomonas sp.
