Meningkatkan Kemampuan Mengenal Huruf Melalui Media Big Book Pada Anak Usia 5-6 Tahun Di Tk Mutiara Kasih Kecamatan Bunut Kabupaten Pelalawan
This research aimed to increasing ability to know about the letters through big book as a media for children age 5-6 years in TK Mutiara Kasih of Bunut Subdistrict of Pelalawan Regency. The subject of this research are 16 children in group B of TK Mutiara Kasih. The method of this research is Classroom Action Research conducted as much as 2 cycle, in each cycle consist 4 stages namely planning, implementation of action, observation, and reflection. This research used observation as the data retrieval techniques. And the data analysis techniques for this research by use descriptive comparative that compare cycle I to the next cycle, and withdrawal the conclusion with critical analysis. Based on the data analysis, known that the average of children’s ability to recognize letters before the Cycle is 41.80% with “Begin to Develop” criteria. After the use of the big book as a media in Cycle I, the children’s ability increase until 50.26% with “Developed According to Expectation” criteria, while the average of Cycle II is 72.02% with “Developed According to Expectation” criteria. It means that the big book can used as a media to increasing children’s ability to recognize letters for children age 5-6 years in TK Mutiara Kasih of Bunut Subdistrict of Pelalawan Regency.
