Karakteristik Petani Dan Tahapan Pengambilan Keputusan Inovasi Metode Sri (System Of Rice Intensification) Di Desa Petapahan Kecamatan Gunung Toar Kabupaten Kuantan Singingi

This research aims to knowing the characteristics the adoption and to analyzed farmers perceptions of the System Of Rice Insectification (SRI) method in Petapahan Village, Gunung Toar District, Kuantan Singingi Regency. Data we collected from 20 smallholder farmers using Simple Random Sampling Method. The result of analysis showed internal characteristics of farmers in Desa Petapahan from the age of 40% are in productive age 43-48 years old, education level 40% of elementary school educated peoples, total family dependent 50% have family members 3-4 people, 30% have farming experience 30-35 years.The external characteristics of farmers in the village consisted of the intensity of counseling, including a good category with an average score of 3,82. The availability of saprodi is included in good category with an average score of 3,72. The process of adoption of farmers innovation toward SRI method in Petapahan Village in the knowledge stage consisting of previous practices, perceived needs, innovation, norms and social system. In Persuasi stage consist of relative advantage, level of alignment, level of kerumittan, can be tried, can be seen result. At decision stage consist of decision adopt and decision not to adopt, then implementation phase and last phase of confirmation. Keywords: Stage of decision making process, innovation, SRI
