Pemanfaatan Limbah Cair Tahu Untuk Pertumbuhan Cacing Sutra Dengan Sistem Resirkulasi

Tofu liquid waste is rich in micro and macro nutrients that can be used to grow microorganism such as Tubifex sp. To understand the effectiveness tofu liquid waste addition in the Tubifex sp. culture media, a study was conducted from July – August 2017. Different amount of waste was mixed with water, there were P0 (0% waste), P1 (25% waste), P2 (50% waste), P3 (75% waste) and P4 (100% waste). The Tubifex sp. was cultured for 14 days. Parameters measured were the biomass of Tubifex sp., BOD5, COD, DO, pH and temperature. Results shown that the best growth of Tubifex sp. was in P1, the biomass 8.4g, BOD5 39-68 mg/L, COD 91.2-56 mg/L, DO 4,3-4,5 mg/L, pH 4-7 and temperature 27-28 oC. Based on data obtained, it can be concluded that the tofu liquid waste is effective for nutrient source for growing the Tubifex sp.
