Konsep Diri Penyandang Tuna Daksa Di Kota Pekanbaru
Every human being in the world are born in different conditions, one of it is in physical condition. In physical terms, humans are born with a full body parts or born with a less part of the body. One of these shortcomings is physically disabled, which is a state of disrepair or disturbed function of muscles and bones in performing its normal functions. For the physically disabled, life has more challenges. From the difficulties of doing the activity until the situation becomes uncomfortable when they became the center of others because of their physical conditions is different. Sometimes, though not many, there are those who would marginalize them for their shortcomings, particularly in terms of employment. The worldview of others, how others treat them will greatly affect self-concept of the physically disabled people. Self concept is all aspects of our perception of ourselves that cover physical, social, and psychological aspects that are formed because of our past experience and our interactions with other people. Its make author to make this paper in order to determine the concept yourself physically disabled in the city of Pekanbaru.
This study uses qualitative research with phenomenological approach. Mechanical blunting the data from this study is through interview, observation and documentation. Informants five persons namely Tiapul Sembiring, Irul, Mubarok, Roy Chaniagodan Beni Marbun obtained through snowball sampling and accidentally. The theory used in this research is the theory of Symbolic Interaction as the main theory and the theory of phenomenology as a supporting theory.
The results of this study indicate that the concept of self physically disabled in the city of Pekanbaru is positive. Although initially some physically disabled who were not born to feel awkward with the changes they feel. Physically disabled can be classified as physically disabled since birth or physically disabled as an adult after an accident. Physically disabled have a positive self-concept with regard to their physical condition although some of them clearly and realize that they are flawed danmemiliki differences with others. In the conceptual component, researchers categorize positive self concept as the person responsible, humorous, cheerful, confident, friendly and smiling. In this case the informant has a positive self-concept for conceptual component. Components of the attitude of researchers categorized into positive self-concept are: friendly, fun, comfortable, helpful. In this study the informants classified into positive self-concept.
