Influence Parenting Parenting Patterns against Social Behavior
of Children In SMPN 8 Pekanbaru.
The purpose of this research is to know the parenting pattern that applied to the
students, to know the level of social behavior of the students, and to know the
relationship of parenting pattern with the social behavior of students in SMPN 8
Pekanbaru. This research is a research with contingency chi squared design using
quantitative approach. The sample used is 188 respondents in this study selected
by using probability sampling with random sampling technique. Data collection
technique in this study using questionnaire method, to collect parenting data
applied by parents with social behavior of students. In the technique of data
analysis using the formula chi squared contingency. The result of the research on
188 respondents found that most parents use authoritarian parenting pattern with
61 respondents (32.45%) and parenting authoritarian pattern with bad social
behavior of 45 respondents (23.94%). Statistical test analysis obtained chi square
calculated greater than table (264,15> 9,488) then Ho rejected Ha accepted means
parenting parenting has a significant relationship with the social behavior of
children of 0.76. Parenting patterns affect the child's social behavior. For that it is
advised to parents to give more attention to their children through parenting
patterns that are applied by parents and also expected social behavior of children
can be formed properly.
