The role of the Education Office is the supervisors, controllers, administrators and supervisors of primary and secondary education for the realization of national education. The function of education is as a tool to liberate people from ignorance, oppression, backwardness and poverty that hit the people of Indonesia. Therefore, the authors formulate the problem, namely: How The Role Of Education Office In Prevention Of Children Prone to Drop Out School In Pekanbaru City Year 2013 - 2015.
The purpose of this research is to: (1) Know the role of Education Office in preventing children prone to drop out of school; (2) to know the causal factor of the children who dropped out of school. This research uses qualitative research method with descriptive research type, which can be interpreted as problem solving process which is investigated by describing the state of research subject based on facts that appear during the research which then continued with based on the existing theories. Data analysis is done by data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion or verification. This research was conducted in Pekanbaru City.
Based on the results of the study concluded the role of the Education Office In the prevention of children prone to drop out in Pekanbaru City, the authors do research so far is to provide assistance, namely: (1) Provide School Operational Assistance / BOS, (2) Provide Scholarships, and (3) Provide Poor Student Assistance / BSM given to students who are unable to avoid dropping out of school. Factors - causes of children prone to drop out: first, Internal Factors are low interest of children to go to school, the level of awareness and self-motivation, the school is considered unattractive and inability to follow the lesson. Second, External Factors namely the family economy, the lack of attention of parents, the playing environment and the number of brothers.
