Peran Pengawas Menelan Obat (Pmo) Terhadap Kepatuhan Minum Obat Pada Pasien Tuberkulosis Paru Di Kecamatan Kuantan Mudik Kabupaten Kuantan Singingi
WHO has recommended the Directly Observed Treatment Shortcourse (DOTS) strategy as a strategy in the prevention of Tuberculosis since 1995. The success of treatment is largely determined by the regularity of taking anti-TB drugs. This can be achieved by the presence of taking medicine guards who monitor and remind pulmonary tuberculosis patients to take medication regularly. This study aims to determine the role of taking medicine guards on drug adherence in patients with pulmonary tuberculosis in Kecamatan Kuantan Mudik Kabupaten Kuantan Singingi. The research design used was qualitative descriptive research involving twelve taking medicine guards, five TB patients and two key informants from health workers at Lubuk Jambi Health Center and PAMALI members. Data were collected by in-depth interviews recorded with a voice recorder. The results of the study concluded that in general the informants had played a good role in supervising the patient's treatment and accompanying the patient to the Puskesmas, reminding the patient to take the medicine, encouraging and support the patient in the treatment, reminding to check the recurrent sputum, giving the patient direction and bringing the patient to power health in case of side effects so as to impact on patient compliance in TB treatment.
