Abstract: This research is intended to know the effect of fingerprint technique on the ability of counting the beginning of children aged 5-6 years in PAUD Nur Ilmi Marpoyan Damai Sub-district Pekanbaru City. The population and sample of this study are groups of children aged 5-6 years. Data completion technique used is observation. Data analysis technique used in this research is wicoxon test result after doing the test requirement that is test of linearity of data capability of counting of student start with technique of finger of not linear therefore test conducted by non parametik test with wicoxon test. From the result of the research shows the improvement of the beginning counting ability of 0.862 and the following determinant (r2) = 0.743 which shows the ability of the finger technique can be summed up the ability to count the beginning of the child aged 5-6 years in PAUD Nur Ilmi Marpoyan Damai Pekanbaru District is 73.43% and 26 , 57%. From the results of this study can be concluded that effective fingerprint technique to improve the ability to count the beginning of children aged 5-6 years in PAUD Nur Ilmi Marpoyan Damai district of Pekanbaru City.
