Abstract : The background of this study is the lack of speaking ability of children is still categorized as MB (Start Developing), because the method often used by teachers in improving children's speaking ability only through the method of conversation. With this method turned out to be only passive children in listening to the story, through the method of conversing children are not able to speak systematically even some children are difficult to tell a good language. Therefore it is necessary to improve children's speaking ability through role playing method.Based on the analysis of the assessment process of 2 cycles there is an increase, the increase is from the pre cycle to cycle I of 24.21%, cycle I to cycle II 56.87% and increase from pre cycle to cycle II of 94.86%. From the results of this study can be concluded that through the method of role play can improve the ability to speak 4-5 years of age children in early childhood Al Fajar Rambah Rokan Hulu. Then the researcher gives recommendation for the teacher should this role play method can be applied in early childhood to stimulate the development of speech ability of child. Because by using this role play method the children will feel happy and interested to further stimulate the ability to speak. It is expected that teachers continue to provide motivation and interesting games so that children feel interested to follow the learning, especially in improving the ability to speak ..
