Implementasi Kebijakan Program Adiwiyata Dalam Pembentukan Karakter Peduli Lingkungan Di SD Negeri 20 Pekanbaru
Environmental problems that have occurred so far must be
addressed. One effort to overcome the environmental problems is through
the formation of environmental care character since the early stage. For
that reason, the government tries to organize Environmental Education
(PLH) in the existing educational institutions. The latest breakthrough from
the government in PLH implementation is through Adiwiyata Program.
This program is able to provide motivation for education providers to apply
PLH, with the "Adiwiyata School" award and its various levels. In this
framework this study aims to analyze the implementation of Adiwiyata
Program in the environmental care character building at Public Elementary
School 20 Pekanbaru. This research used qualitative research method
with the research subjects of principal, teachers, and students. The
research object was the situation of Adiwiyata Program implementation in
the environmental care character building. This research used data
collection technique in the form of observation, interview, and
documentation. Data analysis was performed using data reduction, data
display, and conclusion (interactive model). The validity of the data used
triangulation technique and source. The findings of this research are: first,
the teacher role in the student environmental care character building
through the Adiwiyata Program is to provide an understanding of the
environment, provide examples of environmental care attitude, motivate
environmental love, and provide guidance in participatory environment
activities; Second, the Environmental Education (PLH) implemented by the
Public Elementary School 20 Pekanbaru is guided by four components of
Adiwiyata program. The fulfillment of these four components is a reflection
of the integration of character education methods, such as: disciplinary
methods, habituation, and conditioning. Third, the impact of Adiwiyata
program implementation in the environmental care character building is
the realization of students’ behavior who care about the environment, and
the creation of school environmental health in accordance with the four
components of Adiwiyata.
