Abstract: This paper contains the results of classroom action research (PTK) in PAUD Bestari Tebing Tinggi Dictrict of Meranti Island. Based on the observation thatbsome children aged 5-6 years are still low the ability to read it is in mentioning the symbols of the letters are know,recognize the sound of the initial letter of the initial letter of the names of objects around, mention groups of images that have the same initial letter/letter, understand the relationship between sound and letter form, read their own names. Then do the effort to improve reading ability through smart wheel media. Implementation of the action is done in 2 cycles, each cycle is done three times meeting. Before the action, the reading ability of children is only 36,60% ie “start growing”. After the action, then the cycle 2 it increased to 72,11%. These improvements include the “very well developed” range.
