Pembuatan Biodiesel Dari Minyak Biji Karet Dengan Menggunakan Katalis Cu-Hap
The safety and sustainability of an energy and its environmentally friendly nature are the parameters of success of alternative energy synthesis without degrading the quality of its operation. At present biodiesel is a reliable energy as an alternative energy. Biodiesel is a fatty acid methyl ester (FAME / Biodiesel) made from fat / oil. In this study, oil extracted from rubber seed waste is used as raw material for biodiesel production. Fat content in rubber seeds reaches 50%. Rubber seed oil is converted to FAME by a one-stage esterification-transesterification reaction, using a heterogeneous Cu-hydroxyapatite (Cu-HAp) catalyst. The reaction of biodiesel making was done by mixing 25 ml of rubber seed oil and 50 ml methanol with constant stirring speed (200 rpm) at 65-70 0C for three hours. The effect of Cu-HAp concentration on rubber seed oil conversion to FAME became the focus of study on Cu-HAp catalyst was varied at 0.5; 1 and 1.5% by weight of oil (0.12g, 0.24 g and 0.36 g). The highest biodiesel acquisition was obtained on the use of Cu-HAp catalyst (1.5%) for 3 hours of reaction time of 76%. Result of physical biodiesel test obtained is density 0.894 g / ml, viscosity 5.47 cSt, calorific value 9140.3 Cal / g, moisture content 0.2% and rendemen 76%
