Pembuatan Arang Aktif Dari Cangkang Kelapa Sawit Sebagai Adsorben Ion Pb2+
Lead (Pb) is one of the heavy metals that very dangerous for creature live because having carcinogenic characteristic, can cause mutations, decompose in the long term and unchanged toxicity. This study aims to study the effect of adsorbent activated charcoal from oil palm shell mass is 2, 4, 6 gr with adsorpstion effectivity and adsorbing Pb2+ ion with the contact time 30; 60 and 90 minutes using jar test with stirring speed is 100 rpm. Making activated charcoal start with preparing raw materials, carbonization, sifting, activation using ZnCl2 0,147N and testing of activated charcoal parameters. With the result of activated charcoal yield 97,76%; water content 5,64%; ash content 8,16% and iodin adsorption 621,81 mg/g. The greatest adsorption of activated charcoal to Pb2+ Ion at contact time 90 min with 2 gr adsorbent mass is 0.39 mg/gr. The greatest effevtivity of adsorpstion is 85,87% obtained at time is 90 minutes and adsorbent mass is 6 gr.
