Ampas Sagu Teraktivasi Natrium Hidroksida Sebagai Adsorben Zat Warna Metilen Biru
Sago waste is a biomaterial which produced from sago making. These biomaterials usually dumped into river that from industry so it can cause environmental problems and silting the river. Sago waste contains cellulose and lignin which potential as an adsorbent. In this research adsorbent of sago pulp was activated with a variation of NaOH concentration of 2% (ASAN-2%); 5% (ASAN-5%) and 8% (ASAN-8%) for 3 hours at 30 °C. The adsorbents were then characterized the water content and functional groups using FTIR. Then is the adsorption process with a solution of methylene blue dye. The results obtained in this study showed that ASAN-2% adsorbent contained 2.76% moisture content, the optimum time of ASAN-2% adsorption was 150 minutes with an absorbency rate of 2.195 mg g-1 and a percentage of 97.45%. The optimum concentration was 10 ppm with the absorption rate and the percentage of respiration were 2,155 mg g-1 and 96,32% respectively. The adsorption process meets Freundlich isoterm with R2 = 0.9905 and the second order pseudo reaction kinetics model with R2 = 0.9999.
