Analisis Kandungan Logam Timbal, Kadmium Dan Merkuri Dalam Produk Eyeliner

Eyeliner is an cosmetic eye makeup used to beautify the eye look, thick cream liquid made from a mixture of chemicals. Eyeliner is made from chemicals mixture and heavy metal additives Pb, Cd, and Hg which serves as colour pigments. The presence of heavy metals in products eyeliner is very dangerous, because heavy metal ions can adsorbed into the skin tissue around the eye, then it will cause health problems. This aims of this study is to determine the metal content of lead, cadmium and mercury in products eyeliner. Eyeliner sample used in this study consisted of three different colors, red, blue, and white with the same brand. Three samples were randomly purchased at Giant MTC Shopping Center, Panam Pekanbaru which was analyzed using Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer. The results showed that the content of Pb, Cd and Hg from three samples of eyeliner studied ranging from 6.082 - 15.303 μg/g, 0.225 - 1.666 μg/g and 0.97 – 49.96 μg/g.
