Serangan Siber Rusia Dalam Krisis Ukraina Tahun 2014: Upaya Memperkuat Dominasi Militer
In 2014, occurred Ukrainian crisis involving Russia in an effort annexating Donbass and Crimea region. In addition to the military sector, Russia's annexation effort is done with the support of technology sector that is cyber attack. This research aims to get an overview and explanation of why Russia uses cyber attack in the Ukrainian crisis in 2014 while its military strength is far superior and the availability of other potentials. To analyze it, researcher uses the perspective of offensive realism, the theory of great power with the concept of "power", "cyber power" and "cyber warfare".
The finding of this research is russian effort to reinforce its military domination has been also influenced by US interest on Ukraine. The lower military accumulation to US, make cyber be a right alternative potential to Russia. US has great cyber potentials too but Russia, as a great power, has a potential hegemon status in the region to keep strengthen integrated military-cyber.
