Perbedaan Pengetahuan Dan Sikap Guru Sekolah Dasar Di Perkotaan Dan Perdesaan Kota Pekanbaru Tentang Obesitas Pada Anak
The prevalence of childhood obesity in urban areas are higher than rural areas. Teacher’s knowledge and attitude may affect the incidence of childhood obesity through the development of heathy lifestyle among children. The objective of this study was to compare teacher's knowledge and attitudes about childhood obesity. This was an observational analitical study with cross-sectional approach. The samples of this study were 95 teachers from 5 elementary schools in urban and rural areas in Pekanbaru. Teacher's knowledge and attitudes were measured using questionnaire. Most teacher's had moderate knowledge about obesity, (61,8%) in urban areas and (66,7%) in rural areas. Most teacher's have neutral attitudes towards obesity in urban areas (74,5%) and rural areas (79,2%). There were no differences in the level of teacher's knowledge and attitudes between teachers in urban and rural areas (p>0,05).
