Kemampuan Tumbuhan Air (Hydrilla Verticillata) Dalam Menyerap Logam Berat (Zn, Cu Dan Fe) Yang Diaplikasikan Pada Sungai Sail Kota Pekanbaru
Hydrilla verticillata are able to absorb heavy metals in the water and it can be used for phytoremediation process. A research aims to understand the Zn, Cu and Fe content in the water and the ability of the plants to accumulate those heavy metals was conducted in March - April 2018. H. verticillata are tied to anchored rope at 3 different depths (in the surface, 0.5 m and 1 m depths). The plant was kept for 1 month. Water and plant samplings were conducted once/10 days, 4 times. The average of Zn, Cu and Fe content in the water was 1.99 mg/L, 1.49 mg/L and 4.86 mg/L respectively. By the 30th day, the highest accumulation of Zn was found in Hydrilla verticillata planted in the surface 5.45 g/g, Cu was found in Hydrilla verticillata planted in the 0 m (in the surface) depth 16,38 g/g, while the highest accumulation Fe was in H.verticillata planted 1 m depth 37.34 g/g. Data obtained indicate that H. verticillata is able to absorb Zn, Cu and Fe from the water. Keywords: Heavy metals, Phytoremediation, Aquatic Plant
