This study aims to examine the effect of competency, independence, management support and the relationship between internal auditors and external auditors on the effectiveness of internal audits. The object of this research are star hotels III, IV and V in Pekanbaru City and the sample in this study is internal auditors who work in star hotels III, IV and V in Pekanbaru City.The sample collection technique used the convenience sampling method. The questionnaires distributed were 210 but returned and could only be processed 165. The data of this study used primary data directly through questionnaires. This study uses the Multiple Regression Analysis method using SPSS version 24.The results of this study indicate that competence, independence, management support and the relationship between internal auditors and external auditors have a significant effect on the effectiveness of internal audit with a significance value of 0,000
