Struktur Komunitas Perifiton Di Ekosistem Mangrove Desa Sungai Rawa Kabupaten Siak Provinsi Riau
Periphyton is a sessile microscopic organism that attach on aquatic vegetation.A research aims to understand the community structure (types and abundance)of periphtyon in the mangrove ecosystem of the Sungai Rawa Village, has been conducted from June to July 2018.There were 3 sampling area, close to the settlement area, in the ecotourism area and in the natural area with no human inhabitant. There were 3 transeck lines with 3 quadrants (5 m × 5 m) in the sampling area.Periphyton samples were taken by cutting the roots of mangrovetree present inside the quadrants and then the roots was scraped using tooth brush (7 × 2 cm2).Samplings were conducted once/week for a 3 weeks period. Results shown that there were 40 periphtyton species present and they are belonged to 5 classes,namely Bacillariophyceae (20 species), Cyanophyceae (9 species), Chlorophyceae (5 species), Zygnematophyceae (5 species ), dan Xantophyceae (1 species). Periphyton abundance was 39,877-66,737 cells/cm2.The H’ was 3.70-4.16, C was 0.07-0.11 and E was 0.76-0.81. The water quality parameters are as follows, temperature was 27-28 ºC; brightness was 1.7-2 m; pH was 6-7.3; salinity was 28-31‰; DO was 5.53-6.53 mg/L; nitrate was 0.0-0.43 mg/L and phosphate was 0.04-0.18 mg/L. Based on the periphyton comunity, it can be concluded that the aquatic environment of mangrove ecosystem in the Sungai Rawa can be categorized as good.
