The purpose of the study to be achieved is to determine the effect of employment and wages to migration to enter the working age population in Pekanbaru City. This research was conducted in Pekanbaru City. The selection of this research area is based because Pekanbaru City is one of the areas that many residents are interested to migrate to Pekanbaru City, because it has a great opportunity in the field of work. The data used in this study is for 15 years from 2002-2016. In this case the data used by the authors is secondary data that can be obtained from the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) Riau Province, Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) Pekanbaru, Office of Manpower Riau Province, the required data is PDRB Pekanbaru Town Based on Constant Price Business Field (Millions of Rupiah), Minimum Wage Data of Regency / City in Riau Province (Millions of Rupiah), Data Migration Entrance Pekanbaru (people). Data of Population of Pekanbaru and Population who work in Pekanbaru. The data collection techniques used by the author is to visit directly the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) Riau Province, Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) Pekanbaru City, and other agencies associated with the object of research author.
Data used is secondary data. Data analysis method used is quantitative descriptive analysis method and multiple linear regression method with the help of SPSS program. From the results of the study, it was concluded that the results of the t test concluded that the most dominant variable had an effect on migration in Pekanbaruis a job opportunity variable with a t test value that is more significant. this indicates that inward migration to the city of Pekanbaru prioritizes employment opportunities compared to wagesbecause it is looking for a difficult job so that the wages can be adjusted to the occupation or level of education that the migrant has.
